Youth Villages' Residential Treatment programs serve children with emotional and behavioral problems. Our residential campuses provide the setting for an intensive treatment program that combines the unique balance of structure and freedom. This enables children and their families to identify, understand and cope with their individual needs and develop the skills necessary to succeed in less restrictive settings. We have three different types of facilities—Intensive Residential Centers, Open Campuses, and Group Homes. Located in Tennessee and Georgia, all of these facilities utilize the Re-Education of Emotionally Disturbed Children therapy model (Re-Ed).
Position Overview
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in a commercial establishment by performing the following duties include the following:
High school degree or GED preferred
Six years experience in the field
A mechanical aptitude and general skill knowledge in all areas of general structural and mechanical maintenance.

Position Overview
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in a commercial establishment by performing the following duties include the following:
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
- Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Reports immediately to supervisor any malfunctions or maintenance needs of buildings or equipment.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment ensuring safety and an orderly condition.
- Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Collects, prioritizes and completes maintenance tickets, providing a copy as required to the Director of Support Services, and notifies the Maintenance Supervisor in advance of any special maintenance needs.
- Maintains a safe environment by ensuring that all equipment is operated in a safe and orderly manner.
- Completes scheduled building checklists and forwards completed checklists to designated staff.
- Keeps grounds in good condition and free of litter and foreign objects on a daily basis.
- Secures all tools, equipment and supplies in the designated shop areas.
- Maintains company vehicles in good mechanical and safe operating condition.
- Assists in setting up and dismantling special event equipment.
- Serves as member of committees or Continuous Quality Improvement teams as requested.
- Completes periodic inventories of equipment, tools, supplies and maintenance materials.
- Performs such duties that fall within the purview of the position as determined by the supervisor.

Qualifications:Requirements
High school degree or GED preferred
Six years experience in the field
A mechanical aptitude and general skill knowledge in all areas of general structural and mechanical maintenance.
Must have good working knowledge of washer/ dryer repairs, walk-in freezers/ coolers and ice machines.
HVAC experience preferred
